The Philadelphia 76ers took a one-point lead the second half of Game 2 of their first-round playoff series with the Brooklyn Nets and it appeared the two teams were set to battle down to the wire once again.
It took just one record-tying quarter for the Sixers to put things out of reach.
In the third frame, the Sixers scored 51 points (on 18-for-25 shooting). According to Basketball-Reference, this ties an NBA playoff record for most points scored in a quarter (Lakers, 1962). Philadelphia became just the third team to score 50 or more points in a quarter in the postseason; it would go on to earn a convincing 145-143 victory.
With the Sixers adding their name to the history books in Game 2, take a look back at some of the highest-scoring quarters in playoff history.
