Biggest storylines

Trae heats up

Miami rested the vast majority of their rotation against Atlanta, providing Trae Young with an opportunity to go to work.

The star guard did just that, putting on a passing clinic to dish out 15 assists to go along with his 27 points that included 5-for-12 shooting from long range.

The Hawks won 127-92, but the scoreboard hardly matterd with Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, Bam Adebayo, Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro, Markieff Morris and PJ Tucker all having the night off.

The one novelty of the night was the fact that Miami veteran Udonis Haslem got the start. The 41-year-old finished with one point, four rebounds and three assists.

The future of the Thunder on full display

Josh Giddey and Aleksej Pokusevski are a shining light for Oklahoma City Thunder fans.

Of course the young Thunder roster is destined to be a lottery team, but you get the sense fans wil be just fine with that if their duo continue to show glimpses as they have throughout the preseason.

Giddey was dynamic with the ball in hand, falling just shy of a triple-double with 13 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, while Pokusevski topped scored with 22 points to go along with eight rebounds and three dimes.

Both just 19 years old, the pair already present as highlight machines in the league.

Preseason comes to a close without a win for Lakers

The Lakers won't be panicking, but the preseason has simply confirmed this version of the team is going to take some time to come together.

LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook all took the floor against Sacramento, coming up short 116-112. The loss ends an 0-6 preseason for the championship contender.

Davis (33 minutes), James (29) and Westbrook (29) all got a decent run in the loss, as attention now turns to the beginning of the regular season.

James in particular seemed to shake off any rust, pouring in 30 points to go along with six rebounds and six assists. Most importantly the trio appear to have got through the game injury free.

De'Aaron Fox led all scorers for the Kings with 21 points.
