71st Junior National Basketball Championship: BFI announces host city and tournament dates

On Wednesday, Oct. 27, the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) announced the host city and tournament dates for the 71st edition of the Junior National Basketball Championship. 

The announcement comes nearly two years since the previous edition was held at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna, Bihar.

The 71st edition of the Junior National Basketball Championship, conducted in association with the Madhya Pradesh Basketball Association, will be held at the 'Basketball Complex' near Janjeerwala Chouraha, Race Course Road in Indore from Jan. 4 to Jan. 10. 

As per the circular released BFI, regarding the age criteria, all players competing must be born on or after Jan. 1, 2003. 

The champions from the previous edition included a host of current and former NBA Academy student-athletes. Punjab, the men's champions, consisted of emerging stars like Princepal Singh, Arvinder Singh, and Amaan Sandhu.

On the other hand, Kerala, the woman's champions, also included a couple of NBA Academy India Women's Camp alum in Ann Mary Zachariah and Sreekala Rani.
