All-Star Moment of the Day: Zach LaVine comes up clutch with big fourth quarter vs. Knicks

Zach LaVine looks on track to receive his first career All-Star selection.

On Monday, he came up big against the New York Knicks. With just over five minutes remaining, the game, which saw 15 lead changes and six ties, had the Bulls up by just one (91-90). Then LaVine took over.

Over the remainder of the game, he was responsible for 12 of the team's 19 points including scoring seven of the last 11.

The Bulls eventually won the game 110-102, snapping their 3-game skid. However, this isn't the first time LaVine has come up huge for the team in the final minutes of a game this season.

At the beginning of January, in Portland, he sank the dagger 3 that sealed the huge comeback win for the team.

In fact, at this early point in the season, he only trails LeBron James by five for most fourth-quarter points with 131.

Through 19 games played in the 2020-21 season, he's averaging career-highs of 25.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.1 assists. It's early but he's nearly recording shooting splits of 50/40/90 (.510/.419/.881).

His shooting has taken a huge leap, especially from beyond the arc. Through 19 games, he's knocking down 3.6 3-pointers per game - a career-high that ranks him in the top 6 in the league.

His numbers in January put him alongside some elite company.

In his seventh season in the league, can LaVine breakthrough for his first-ever All-Star nod? Future Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade certainly believes so.
