The 101 players were felicitated by Punjab's Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Punjab Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi and Sports secretary Sanjay Kumar.

As per the Times of India, Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi said that the 81 players were felicitated for their achievements from 2011 to 2018.

This isn't the first time the Indian forward has received recognition in India for his game. In February last year, the first time Basketball honours were handed out at the Times of India Sports Awards, Amjyot was named the Basketball Player of the Year by the jury's choice.
