With the win in Portland against the Blazers, the Lakers capped off a tough 3-game road trip with wins also coming in Denver and Utah.

This extends their road win streak to 11 and improves their overall record to 20-3, tied with the Milwaukee Bucks for the best record in the league.

In this one, they led by as many as 27 and eventually won 136-113 as close long-time friends LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony faced-off for the 39th time in their career.

Here are the biggest takeaways from this one:

Lakers firing on all cylinders

The Lakers posted a season-high 136 points behind 70 from their superstar duo of Anthony Davis and LeBron James.

Davis fell two points shy of his season-high tally with 39, while also recording nine rebounds, three blocks, two assists, and two steals. James, on the other hand, finished with 31 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds.

As a team, the Lakers shot 46-of-85 (54.1%) from the field and 17-of-36 (47.2%) from beyond the arc. They were clinical on the other end of the floor as well.

The Lakers, who lead the league with 7.4 blocks per game, recorded eight blocks in this game. Their defense allowed them to score 23 points on the Blazers' 15 turnovers.

Rough night for Blazers

The Blazers' three biggest stars in Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, and Carmelo Anthony had a rough shooting game.

The trio combined for 59 points on 18-of-44 (40.9%) shooting from the field and 6-of-18 (33.3%) from beyond the arc, while committing nine of the team's 15 turnovers.

If that wasn't enough, the team lost an important scorer Rodney Hood in the first quarter. He was taken to the locker room, and subsequently, news poured in of the MRI - a left torn Achilles tendon.

Late in the third quarter, down by 17, head coach Terry Stotts was ejected from the game on receiving his second technical. While this is the second game in three that the Blazers have lost by 20+, they do have a favourable home schedule ahead of them.

Lakers' road streak to be put to the test

The Lakers will head home to play the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday before they head out for a 5-game Eastern Conference road trip.

The trip spans eight days, including stops in Miami and Milwaukee, potential spots where the Lakers' road win streak could be threatened.
