It's official.

On Thursday, ESPN, the NBA and NBPA announced that Zach LaVine, Trae Young and Chris Paul are among the players who will participate in the first-ever NBA HORSE Challenge.

Joining them will be Chauncey Billups, Tamika Catchings, Mike Conley Jr., Paul Pierce and Allie Quigley. They will each match shots against one another in a single-elimination HORSE competition from their respective, isolated home courts.

The quarterfinals begin on Monday, April 13, followed by the semifinals and championship game on Friday, April 17.

Now that we know who is participating in the competition, let's take a look at some of the best HORSE shots that we've seen so far this NBA season.

From halfcourt

According to Basketball Reference, Detroit Pistons guard Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk holds the record for the longest shot made this season, a 61-footer to beat the buzzer.

There's a little more skill and a little less luck involved in these ones.

Behind the backboard

A classic HORSE shot.

Who did it better: Trae Young...

...Paul George...

...or Kyrie Irving?

Off the backboard

Call it the Tracy McGrady.

TBD on whether or not dunking is allowed, though.

No look

Joel Embiid practices these shots apparently.

Off hand

In honour of Kobe Bryant, who somehow made a left-handed turnaround jumper in a game once.

The Dirk

One of the signature shots in NBA history.

Dirk Nowitzki did it multiple times per game, but it's a difficult enough shot to qualify for this list.

"I got fouled!"

Who better than Kyle Lowry to illustrate this?

360

Extra points if it's in the form of a jump shot as opposed to a layup.
