Kyrie Irving's first season with the Brooklyn Nets has officially ended, with the team announcing he underwent season ending surgery on his right shoulder today.
The arthroscopic surgery was conducted by Dr. Riley Williams III at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

Irving averaged 27.4 points and 6.4 rebounds in 20 appearances this season, including a 50-point outing in his Nets debut against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The surgery continues a long injury history for the six-time All-Star as he has now failed to play more than 70 regular season games in four of the last five seasons.
With Brooklyn's other marquee free agent signing Kevin Durant sidelined for the season after rupturing his achilles in last year's playoffs, the Nets are hoping the franchise duo will both be healthy for training camp in September.
Brooklyn held an 8-12 record with Irving in the lineup, while they are 18-21 in his absence. The Nets currently sit four games ahead of the Washington Wizards for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference as they appear set for a collision course with the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round.
