Devin Booker (Health and safety protocols) to miss Media Day and start of training camp

The Phoenix Suns announced that their All-Star shooting guard Devin Booker would be missing Media Day and the start of the training camp after being placed in the NBA's health and safety protocols.

The 24-year-old confirmed on his Twitch live stream that he had contracted COVID-19.

The 6-foot 5 shooting guard is coming off the best season of his career, playing a pivotal role in the Suns winning their first Western Conference Championship and advancing to their first NBA Finals since 1993.

In the six-game Finals series, he averaged 28.2 points per game including back-to-back 40-point games. His 601 points, over the course of the 2021 playoffs, are the most in NBA history by a player in his debut postseason.

Just days after the 2021 Finals, Booker was also part of the Team USA squad that won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
