The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup continued with Day 3 of Second Round play on Sunday.

Four more countries – Argentina, Poland, Spain and Serbia – locked in a spot in the Quarter-Finals, joining the United States, France and Australia as seven of the eight teams that will be moving on to the next segment of the tournament.

Day 3's action did not disappoint as Argentina continued to roll and the World Cup's most dominant team, Serbia, was handed its first loss of the tournament.

If you missed any of the action, we had you covered with highlights, scores and more from Day 3 of the Second Round.

Russia 69, Venezuela 60

Both teams were already destined for the Classification Round but both teams battled until the end.

Russia edged Venezuela, holding onto a lead in the fourth quarter behind 17 points, nine rebounds and five assists from Andrey Vorontsevich. Vorontsevich was efficient in scoring his team-high 17 points shooting 4-for-6 from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc.

Venezuela's Michael Carrera's double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds kept his country close, but only one other Venezuelan player scored in double figures and their offence couldn't keep up.

Italy 94, Puerto Rico 89 (OT)

In one of the best games of the day, Italy edged Puerto Rico in overtime.

Italy trailed by double digits at the half but turned things on the in the second half to come back and force overtime. Marco Belinelli erupted in the fourth quarter to keep his team alive, scoring 11 points on three 3-pointers.

Belinelli finished with a game-high 27 points and his teammate Danilo Gallinari dropped 22 points to help complete the comeback victory.

It was a balanced scoring attack for Puerto Rico, who had four players score in double figures, but they couldn't find a way to stop Italy's two NBA guys to hold on for a victory.

Both teams will fall to the Classification Round.

Argentina 91, Poland 65

In a contest between two undefeated teams fighting to win Group I, Argentina dominated Poland to advance to 5-0 on the World Cup.

Argentina's Luis Scola has been fantastic in this tournament and that continued in this one – Scola went for a game-high 21 points while doing a handful of other things like grabbing six boards, dishing out three assists and coming up with three steals.

Argentina shot an efficient 54.3% from the field, converting easy buckets while forcing Poland to shoot 38.1% from the field.

Poland's A.J. Slaughter finished with 16 points but aside from him, Poland didn't have the fire power to keep up with Argentina's offence.

Regardless of the result, both teams will move on to the Quarter-Finals.

Spain 81, Serbia 69

The headliner for Day 3 was this matchup between two power houses. Both countries entered the contest with perfect 4-0 records and while Spain is typically the more talented team in most matchups, they were the underdogs in this one versus a Serbia team that has rolled every country they've faced.

Spain put an end to that by taking down the tournament's best team thus far, defeating Serbia by double figures to win Group J.

69 points is by far the least the Serbs have scored in a game so far this World Cup – their next-loweset scoring total was 90 points.

Bogdan Bogdanovic – the World Cup's most outstanding player to this point – continued to light it up with 26 points but he was the only Serbian player in double digits. Bogdanovic also had 10 rebounds and six assists.

Spain held Nikola Jokic to just six points on four shot attempts and forced Nemanja Bjelica to three points on 0-for-5 shooting from the field.

Ricky Rubio (19 points) and Victor Claver (14 points) did the majority of the damage for Spain, but Marc Gasol's 11 points, six rebounds, six assists and elite rim protection played a key role in fending off the Serbs.

This was a statement win for Spain, but both teams will advance to the Quarter-Finals.
