The FIBA earlier today announced the five host nations for the FIBA Women's Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament 2019.

The five tournaments will be played across three regions - the Americas (2), Africa, and Asia-Oceania (2) - in the pre-qualifying window from November 10-18, 2019.

India, despite finishing last in the recent FIBA Women's Asia Cup, remains in Division A and are slotted in Group B alongside countries like Japan (reigning four-time Asian Champions), Australia, and the Chinese Taipei.

Malaysia is the host country during the pre-qualifying window for the above-mentioned countries.

The eight Asian teams (including the four Group A countries - China, Philippines, New Zealand, and Korea) will fight for four qualifying spots at the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament, which is set to take place in February 2020.
