India was grouped into a four-team Group B on September 28th for the Asia-Oceania region of the FIBA Women's Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament 2019.

As per a FIBA announcement on October 8th, all the Group B games are played at the Malaysia Basketball Association (MABA) Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Indian women's squad remained in Division A of the Asia-Oceania region despite recently finishing eighth and last in the recent FIBA Women's Asia Cup in Bengaluru.

The eight teams (including the four Group A countries - China, Philippines, New Zealand, and Korea) will fight for four qualifying spots at the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament, which is set to take place in February 2020.
