Five stats to know from Bradley Beal's career-high 60-point performance

Bradley Beal continued his red-hot start to the season, setting a new career-high with 60 points in the Washington Wizards' 141-136 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.

He tied his previous career-high of 55 late in the third quarter, finishing the period with 57 points, before going cold in the fourth.

"Knowing him, he's pissed. He scored 60 points, and we lost ... he's all about winning," Wizards coach Scott Brooks said postgame

Beal's 60 came on an efficient 20-of-35 from the field (57.1%), 7-of-10 from the 3-point line and 13-of-15 at the charity stripe.

Five key stats

  • Beal tied Gilbert Arenas' franchise record of 60 points (2006).
  • Beal (4) has now passed Gilbert Arenas (3) for most 50-point games in franchise history.
  • His historic night also saw him become the third Wizards player to score 30 points in a half in the last 20 years, after piling up 32 at the break on 11-of-16 from the field. The other two players to do so are (34 points in 2001) and Gilbert Arenas (33 points in 2006 and 30 in 2007).
  • Beal became the 20th player in NBA history to score 60 or more points in a loss, per Basketball Reference.

Through eight games this season, Beal is averaging a league-leading 34.3 points per game on 47.9 percent shooting from the field and 37.5 percent from the 3-point line.
