Los Angeles Lakers

Chris Bosh says LeBron James is still going strong and that people are 'jaded by his greatness'

The Los Angeles Lakers' season did not go according to plan, with the franchise missing the playoffs for the sixth-straight season, while LeBron James won't be playing in the post-season for the first time since 2005.

Despite the poor results, James still produced one of his best statistical seasons and former Miami Heat teammate Chris Bosh believes he is almost underrated at this point.

"He's going strong," Bosh told ESPN's Lisa Salters. "He set the bar so high that if he averages 25 [points], eight [rebounds], and eight [assists] that's not enough. After eight [straight] years in The Finals, people have gotten jaded by his greatness."

After a near-decade of Finals appearances, James will get a break much earlier than expected, something Bosh believes could set the 34-year-old up for a strong bounce back in 2019/20.

"For the first time in almost 15 years, he can get rest and really fully reset and get a whole off-season," Bosh added. "So I think you'll probably see something you've never seen before from him next year."

Bosh won two titles alongside James as part of the Big 3 with Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat, with the franchise raising his #1 jersey to the rafters yesterday.

James was unable to attend the ceremony, with the Los Angeles Lakers playing the Washington Wizards in L.A. at the time.

James is averaging 27.5 points, 8.6 boards, and 8.1 assists this season for the Lakers.
