Jeremy Lin will play for the Chinese Basketball Assocation's Beijing Shougang Ducks next season, the team announced on Tuesday.

Lin split the 2018-19 season in the NBA with the Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors. He averaged 9.6 points, 3.1 assists and 2.4 rebounds over 74 regular season games with the two teams and won his first championship as a member of the Raptors.

Lin has career averages of 11.6 points, 4.3 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game in the NBA.

An unrestricted free agent this summer, the 31-year-old recently said that free agency had been tough on him because he felt as though the NBA had given up on him "in some ways." We had Lin as the second-best free agent remaining at the point guard position at this point of the offseason, trailing only three-time NBA champion Shaun Livingston.

"I've given more of myself to God every single year," Lin said. "And every year it gets harder. In English, there's a saying and it says: Once you hit rock bottom, the only way is up, but rock bottom just seems to keep getting more and more rock bottom for me."

With three championships, the Guangdong Southern Tigers and Bayi Rockets are the only teams in CBA history to have won more championships than the Ducks.

Lin will be teammates with former Utah Jazz centre Ekpe Udoh on the Ducks. Udoh signed a one year contract with the team earlier this offseason.
