Giannis Antetokounmpo has made history, again.

On Friday, the NBA announced that Antetokounmpo has been named this season's Most Valuable Player, making him the 13th multi-time winner in NBA history and the 12th player to win the award in consecutive seasons.

Additionally, Antetokounmpo becomes the first player from Europe to be selected as MVP more than once and the third player to win multiple MVP awards by the age of 25, joining LeBron James and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

This past season, Giannis again led the Milwaukee Bucks to the league's best record, doing so by averaging 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists in only 30.4 minutes per game while shooting 55.3% from the field.

The announcement comes less than two weeks from the date in which Antetokounmpo was named this season's Defensive Player of the Year for the 2019-20 season, making him just the third player in NBA history to earn both MVP and Defensive Player of the Year honours in the same season, joining Michael Jordan (1988) and Hakeem Olajuwon (1994).
