NBA Free Agency got off to a hectic start with Kevin Durant electing to sign with the Brooklyn Nets.

Durant inked a four-year deal worth $164 million, teaming up with Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan to try and bring a title to Brooklyn.

The deal ended Durant's historic three-year run with the Golden State Warriors where he collected two NBA titles and two Finals MVPs. The 10-time All-Star averaged 25.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game over three seasons with the Warriors.

Earlier today, Golden State's Co-Chairman and CEO Joe Lacob issued a statement in regards to Durant's decision.

He concluded the statement by honouring Durant's contributions to the Warriors, stating, "As long as I am Co-Chairman of this team, no player will ever wear #35 for the Warriors again."

Despite the short tenure, it appears that Durant will eventually have his jersey hung in the rafters of the Warriors' new arena, forever solidifying his greatness for what he brought to the franchise.
