Trade talks involving Jimmy Butler are starting to heat up again.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Houston Rockets are making a "renewed bid" for the Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star, offering as much as four future first-round draft picks.

While Butler requested a trade from the Timberwolves before the regular season began, he returned to the team in time for the season opener when a deal hadn't materialized. Minnesota came close to a trade with the Miami Heat in the first week of October, only to see it fall apart at the last minute.

Houston's motivation to trade for Butler is to go "all-in with a legitimate third star" to pair with James Harden and Chris Paul, Wojnarowski adds. Which players would be included in the pick-heavy trade is a "fluid" discussion, though The Athletic's Shams Charania reports that Marquese Chriss and Brandon Knight - two players the Rockets acquired this offseason who have yet to play a game this season - are a part of the proposed deal.

Even with the four future first-round picks involved, the Timberwolves are "showing no inclination" to take that offer.

After pushing the Golden State Warriors to seven games in the Western Conference Finals last season, the Rockets have gotten 2018-19 off to a slow start in losing three of their first four games. The Timberwolves have had their own struggles, losing three of their first five.

Butler appeared in four of those five games and posted averages of 24.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.8 steals and 3.5 assists per contest.
