Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid exited today's game against the Portland Trail Blazers with a left ankle injury, adding to the 76ers' injury woes.

Embiid suffered the injury midway through the first quarter, fighting for a rebound with Blazers' big man Zach Collins. He remained in the game briefly, but appeared to be in pain and was soon heading for the locker room.

He finished with two points and four rebounds in six minutes on court.

The 76ers are already struggling on the injury front, with Ben Simmons set to leave the bubble for surgery on his dislocated left knee cap. While the Aussie is expected to miss significant time with his injury, Embiid's status remains uncertain.

"I'm going to learn more physically," 76ers head coach Brett Brown said post-game of Embiid's injury. "I don't know enough to comment on it. I think it’s true for everybody, where you want an honest medical assessment of anything that equals a potential problem you just want to avoid."
