LaMarcus Aldridge and San Antonio Spurs have 'mutually agreed' to part ways

It appears LaMarcus Aldridge's time with the San Antonio Spurs is coming to an end.

The franchise and the seven-time All-Star have 'mutually agreed' to part ways, with the team working on finding another suitor, per head coach Gregg Popovich

"LaMarcus is not with the team," Popovich told reporters. "He's healthy, in that respect, but we've mutually agreed to work out some opportunities for him and that'll be elsewhere. So, he won't be with the team moving forward. He's been a great teammate. There was no problem there. We just think this is a win-win for both LaMarcus and for the club. So, when an opportunity arises, that'll be up to management, his agent, you know, sort of thing. We'll all move forward."

"He's been a great teammate. He's done everything we've asked. And at this point, we'd just like to something that will work for him as much as for our club, because he deserves that."

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, San Antonio is working on several trade scenarios this week, with no movement toward a contract buyout.

The 35-year-old has struggled of late with the Spurs, moving to a bench role last month after previously starting every game during his tenure in San Antonio. He is averaging only 13.7 points per game, the fewest since his rookie season, and 4.5 rebounds per game, a career-low.

The Spurs entered the All-Star break with an 18-14 record, sitting in the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference standings.
