The rookie sensation continues to impress.

Luka Doncic scored a game-high 32 points with eight assists and eight rebounds in the Dallas Mavericks' grind-it-out home win over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday.

This was a back-and-forth contest that was tight throughout the entire fourth quarter.

With the game tied and just under four minutes to go, the Mavericks came up with two huge defensive plays to swing the momentum of the game. Maxi Kleber blocked Blake Griffin's go-ahead shot attempt, and when Griffin tried to corral the block, Doncic came up with a steal to give Dallas possession.

Doncic pushed it up the floor to find Kleber, who buried the clutch 3-pointer to put the Mavs up three with three minutes to go and they never looked back.

A few possessions later, Doncic found a cutting DeAndre Jordan to put the Mavericks up five. After another stop, Doncic took the game into his own hands to make sure Dallas got the win.

Late in the shot clock with under a minute and a half to go, Doncic hit a fallaway shot in the paint over Stanley Johnson to put the game out of reach.

Griffin scored 35 points to go with seven rebounds and four assists but still finds himself 0-2 against long-time Clippers' teammate Jordan, who had a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds on the day.

Kleber stepped up in a big way for the Mavericks, giving them a quality 12 points on four made 3-pointers and four blocks off the bench.

Dallas is now 18-6 at home - the same home record as the Golden State Warriors. The catch? Their 4-20 road record is tied with the Phoenix Suns for the second-worst in the NBA, trailing only the Cleveland Cavaliers who are 4-22.

If they want to make a playoff push, they will have to start winning on the road.
