NBA Draft 2020: Potential No. 1 pick LaMelo Ball says 'I feel like I can play on any team' ahead of combine

LaMelo Ball is projected to be one of the first couple names selected in the 2020 NBA Draft.

The teams near the top of the draft? In order, the Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers. If you move a little bit further down the list, you'll find teams like the Detroit Pistons and New York Knicks, who could potentially try and move up to draft the 19-year-old guard.

In Ball's media availability for the NBA Draft Combine on Tuesday, he was asked about his discussions with just about every team above.

For the most part, questions about if he's spoken with each team specifically were met with answers of "I don't know," or "no," per Cleveland.com's Chris Fedor. But he did, however, say that he has spoken to the Knicks, per Basketball News' Alex Kennedy. On whether or not New York is interested in moving up to select Ball, he reverted back to, "That, I don't know. Maybe, maybe not."

It was inevitable that he would be asked about the Warriors specifically, because his father, LaVar, had named Golden State as the one place he wouldn't want his son to land.

LaMelo said that he doesn't agree with his father, stating, "My old man, he's his own man. He has his opinions, I have mine. Like I said, I feel like I can play on any team. Anywhere's a great fit."

Ball was consistent in that last statement, reiterating, "Once again, I feel positive anywhere I go. I feel I can make a good impact wherever I go," when asked about the potential of being selected No. 1 overall to the Timberwolves.

"Ever since I was little, when I'd do little projects and stuff, that was one my goals - to go to the NBA and be the No. 1 pick," Ball told the media.

With the NBA Draft set for Nov. 18 (Eastern Time) and the NBA Combine just around the corner, Ball has some time to prove to NBA scouts that he is deserving of that No. 1 overall selection.
