NBA Finals 2019: Klay Thompson on the Golden State Warriors: 'We're never going to doubt ourselves'

The Golden State Warriors have never lacked confidence.

Regardless of the situation, players under head coach Steve Kerr have always believed in themselves. They do right now, even though they are in their first Finals without homecourt advantage and find themselves down in the series after losing Game 1 to the Toronto Raptors.

The Warriors will take that positive attitude into Sunday's contest, where they will look to even the series at 1-1 before it shifts to Golden State for Games 3 and 4. It's something Klay Thompson talked about at his media availability on Sunday, ahead of Game 2.

"Confidence is obviously big in anything you do, any profession you're in," said Thompson, who scored 21 points in Game 1.

"It starts with our leader in Steph Curry, who is probably - you just see it in his game, his ability to pull up from 35-feet anywhere on the floor. Draymond [Green] as well, who plays with great passion and confidence. When the best guys on your team do that, it trickles down. You need that, especially in this industry. You can't go out there and doubt yourself, especially on this stage. Especially when you have a proven track record of winning and great team chemistry and all that.

"So we're never going to doubt ourselves, no matter what position we're in."

As for the team's mentality after losing Game 1? "It's first to four, not first to one," Thompson said. "So still a lot of basketball to be played."
