NBA Finals 2020: Game 3 injury updates on Miami Heat starters Bam Adebayo, Goran Dragic

The Miami Heat had to replace two starters in Game 2 against the Los Angeles Lakers.

With All-Star centre Bam Adebayo (neck) and starting point guard Goran Dragic (foot) out for Game 2, the Heat elected to slide reserve centre Meyers Leonard and rookie guard Tyler Herro into the starting lineup.

Miami fell to Los Angeles 124-114, putting up a much better fight than their Game 1 performance. Backup centre Kelly Olynyk took on the bulk of Adebayo's minutes, going for 24 points and nine rebounds, while Herro stepped up with 17 points, seven rebounds and three assists filling in for Dragic.

Unfortunately for the Heat, the two injuries to their starters didn't improve over the past day and they'll be without Adebayo and Dragic in Game 3, too.

Head coach Erik Spoelstra feels for his two starters, stating, "I can see the anguish, literally, in their eyes ... they really want to be there because they love their teammates and they put their heart and soul into it."

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, both Adebayo and Dragic had hoped to return to the floor for Game 3, but, "the pain and physical limitations on both injuries has them out again."

Did Olynyk play well enough in Game 2 to earn the start again in Game 3? Will Herro continue to fill in for Dragic?

Either way, Miami is going to need every individual to step up if they're going to get on the board in this series in Game 3.
