NBA Finals 2020: Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis (heel) will play in Game 6

To not much of a surprise, Los Angeles Lakers star forward Anthony Davis (heel) will play in Game 6.

Davis reaggravated a right heel contusion, going down in the first quarter of Game 5 of the NBA Finals as Laker Nation collectively held its breath. He would eventually get up and walk to the bench under his own power, and shortly thereafter, return to the game.

"Went out the end of the first and it just kind of just wore off and got back to normal," Davis said after the game. "Just kept moving around. Just trying not to sit down. Get that adrenaline going and I was able to keep going and keep playing."

Davis went on to hobble through 43 of 48 minutes in the contest, going for 28 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks while also guarding the Miami Heat's best player in Jimmy Butler.

Although he was clearly favouring his right heel, he never questioned his availability for Game 6 with a chance to close out the series and win his first NBA title. "I'll be fine on Sunday," the Lakers star stated confidently following their Game 5 loss.

Davis has been great in his first NBA Finals, averaging 26.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.4 steals through five games.
