NBA Free Agency 2019: Patrick Beverley reportedly agrees to three-year, $40 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers

Free agent guard Patrick Beverley is reportedly returning to the Los Angeles Clippers on a three-year, $40 million deal, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Bringing back the heartbeat of the team was one of the key focuses of the off-season, with Beverley garnering plenty of interest around the league, with the Chicago Bulls, Los Angles Lakers, Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks all reportedly interested in acquiring the defensive-minded point guard.

The deal to bring back Beverley still leaves the Clippers with room to go after their main prize in free agency in Kawhi Leonard, who is scheduled to meet with the Clippers brass in the coming days.

The 30-year-old averaged 7.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 78 games for the Clippers as they claimed the #7 seed in the Western Conference, before losing in the first round of the playoffs to the Golden State Warriors.

Players can negotiate agreements with teams on July 1st but contracts can't be officially signed until the new league year begins on July 7.
