NBA Free Agency 2019: Memphis Grizzlies acquire Satnam Singh, two draft picks in sign-and-trade deal

Satnam Singh has signed a one-year contract with the team for the 2018-19 season.

The Memphis Grizzlies announced that they have acquired two future second-round draft picks and the draft rights to centre Satnam Singh from the Dallas Mavericks for point guard Delon Wright in a sign-and-trade deal between the two teams.

Singh spent his last year in the NBL Canada playing for the St. John's Edge. The Barnala, India-native played in 38 games for the Edge averaging 2.1 points and 1.2 rebounds in 5.1 minutes per game.

Singh was the 52nd overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft, becoming the first-ever Indian-born player to be selected. He was also the first player since 2005 to be drafted without playing in college, overseas professionally or in the NBA's now-G League.

Wright will add guard depth the the Mavericks' bench after averaging 12.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.3 assists over 26 games after being traded from the Toronto Raptors to the Grizzlies. He closed out the season with three triple-doubles in the final four games.
