NBA India All-Access: A conversation with Red FM's RJ Raunac

RJ Raunac

In this episode of NBA India All-Access, we welcome Red FM's RJ Raunac, also known for lending his voice for Baua - a prank call master on the radio.

During the 2020 All-Star Weekend in Chicago, RJ Raunac was in attendance to take in the festivities. Towards the end of his trip, he took out some time to speak to India to talk about his experiences from the star-studded weekend.

Here's how the conversation went: Did you follow basketball or NBA while back in India?

RJ Raunac: Yes, I do follow basketball and am a great fan of the game, especially after watching the All-Star Weekend in Chicago live. Your favourite player and favourite NBA team?

RJ Raunac: My favourite player is LeBron James and favourite team is Sacramento Kings because I take great pride in the Indian connection of the team as the India-born Chairman & Governor Mr. Vivek Ranadive is a great inspiration.

I was honoured to have met him during this trip. Your most memorable experience of the All-Star Weekend?

RJ Raunac: The one thing that I will cherish forever from this trip will be Jennifer Hudson's stunning rendition of 'For All We Know' as a tribute to Kobe Bryant.

And then the crowd's reaction to it gave me goosebumps. Favourite musical performance of the All-Star Weekend?

RJ Raunac: I loved COMMON, Chaka Khan and Queen Latifah's performances. Have you heard Damian Lillard rap before and what did he think about his performance?

RJ Raunac: I heard him for the first time at All-Star. What stood out for me in the performance was the wonderful jacket etched with Mamba Forever on the back.
