This piece was published in Oct. 2019, just days after the historic NBA India Games were held in Mumbai, India.

Last week, from October 2nd to 5th, the third NBA Academy India Women's Camp was held in Mumbai at the American School of Bombay.

While taking part in the camp, the girls also took part in an NBA Cares clinic with select players from the Sacramento Kings and the Indiana Pacers. They also got a chance to meet players from both teams - the Kings and Pacers - and sit courtside during the team's practice sessions (open and close).

The two previous editions of the NBA Academy India Women's camps were conducted in May 2018 and January 2019 at the NBA Academy India premises - Jaypee Greens Integrated Sports Complex in Delhi National Capital Region (NCR).

Here's a look at the awardees from the recently held Women's Camp:

Rajvi Desai - Defensive player

Kaavya Singla - Most improved player

Ann Mary Zachariah - Coaches award

Siya Deodhar - Teammate awardee

Harsimran Kaur - Camp MVP

Ann Mary Zachariah, Harsimran Kaur and Siya Deodhar were three of four girls invited to the NCAA's Next Generation program at the Women's Final Four in Tampa this past April. Out of these three, the duo of Harsimran Kaur and Siya Deodhar went on to receive invitations to the Basketball Without Borders Asia Camp in Tokyo recently.

After that, Kaur went on to represent India in Malaysia for the FIBA 3X3 U18 Asia Cup 2019.
