The Los Angeles Lakers' season looks to have run its course with the latest report stating the team will be placing LeBron James on a minutes restriction.

Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes was first to report the news, which states James will be on the restriction as well as likely not playing in back-to-back games.

The Lakers have 17 games remaining on their schedule for the 2018-19 season and currently sit in 11th spot, six and a half games behind the eighth seeded Los Angeles Clippers.

James will reportedly play in the 28-32 minute range for the remainder of the season, a dip on his current season average.

Los Angeles are currently riding a four-game losing streak and have lost eight of their past 10 games as the race for the playoffs slips away from them.

James' 16th season in the league has seen him average 27.1 points, 8.0 rebounds and 8.6 assists. He earlier missed a stretch of 18 games earlier in the season after sustaining a groin injury against the Golden State Warriors.

The Lakers will look to snap their losing streak when they take on the Boston Celtics at home on Sunday.
