Box Score | Play-by-play

What a performance from Blake Griffin! We have our first 50-point game of the new NBA season.

The Pistons forward dominated from start to finish against the 76ers, dropping 50 points, 14 rebounds and six assists, including five three-pointers

In the back-and-forth affair, Griffin traded buckets with JJ Redick down the stretch, but #32 got the final word, connecting on this three-point play to put the Pistons up by one, with just 1.8 seconds left on the clock.

Just seconds before, Redick knocked down an off-balance three-pointer, sinking the free throw after being fouled, to put the Sixers up two.

Griffin also hit a pair of free throws late in the fourth quarter to give Detroit a one-point lead, shaking off his free throw struggles from the first half, where he missed six from the charity stripe. He didn't miss much else though, scoring 28 first-half points, capped by this monster flush on Joel Embiid.

Redick finished the game with 30 points off the bench, while Joel Embiid bruised inside for 33 points and 11 rebounds.

He got the best of Pistons big man Andre Drummond, who shot 6-of-20 for his 14 points and 16 rebounds, with Drummond getting ejected from the game after picking up his second technical foul.

Drummond was not happy after being called for a foul on Embiid and with 43 seconds left in regulation, he was done for the night.

L.A. simply didn't have an answer for Anthony Davis, who unloaded 34 points and 13 rebounds as well as 5 BLOCKS!

New Orleans has impressed with their offence so far this season, but on Wednesday got it done on the other end of the floor, clamping down in the third quarter.

The Clippers led 62-59 at half-time and the Pelicans responded, dominating the period 32-22, extending the lead to as many as 14 points.

With New Orleans leading 107-102 late in the fourth, Davis knocked down this dagger three-pointer to put the Pelicans up by seven, with just under two minutes remaining.

Point guard Elfrid Payton then got in on the action, draining another triple from the wing, to make it 113-104 and put the game to bed.
