Report: Philadelphia 76ers acquire Danny Green from Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Al Horford, picks

It appears that the busy offseason will continue for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

According to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Thunder have agreed to trade recently-acquired Danny Green to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Al Horford, a "lightly-protected 2025 first-round pick," the 34th overall pick in this year's draft and the rights to Serbian point guard Vasilije Micic.

The deal comes just days after OKC reportedly acquired Green and a first-round pick from the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Dennis Schröder. It is a part of a larger rebuild for the Thunder, who also parted ways with All-Star Chris Paul earlier in the week to acquire four players and more draft capital in return.

Over the past two offseasons, the Thunder have gained extensive draft assets in exchange for Russell Westbrook, Paul George, Schröder, Paul and now, Green. OKC now owns the No. 25, No. 28, and No. 34 selections in the 2020 NBA Draft.

For the Sixers, they acquire a shooter in Green, who is fresh off of his second-consecutive NBA title, winning in 2019 with the Toronto Raptors and in 2020 with the Lakers. Green, 33, has one year remaining on a two-year, $30 million deal signed with Los Angeles in the 2019 offseason. He averaged 8.0 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 36.7% from deep over 68 regular-season games with LA (all starts).

As for Horford, the 34-year-old is owed $81 million over the next three years after signing a four-year deal worth $109 million with the Sixers last offseason. The five-time All-Star big man averaged 11.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists over 67 games (61 starts) with Philly last season.
