On Thursday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Los Angeles Lakers centre DeMarcus Cousins suffered a "possible knee injury" in a workout in Las Vegas earlier this week that required him to leave the court.
A few hours later, Shams Charania of The Athletic added that the four-time All-Star has suffered a torn ACL, likely meaning that he will miss the entire 2019-20 season.
When the news broke, a number of NBA players took to Twitter to wish Cousins a speedy recovery.
