Portland Trail Blazers win Game 3

What a game!

A huge late three by Rodney Hodd and clutch free throw by Seth Curry sealed a quadruple-overtime Game 3 for the Blazers at home, giving them a 2-1 edge in the Conference Semifinals series against the Denver Nuggets.

CJ McCollum top-scored with 41 points while four other Blazers also scored in double figures for the spectacular Game 3 home win. 


 

On the other hand, Nikola Jokic, playing 65 minutes of the possible 68, finished with a monster triple-double of 33 points, 18 rebounds, and 14 assists.

Still not done. 

This game will go down in the history books as the second ever 4OT game in NBA playoff history.

This time both teams scored nine points with Damian Lillard scoring five of those nine for the Blazers.

Nikola Jokic recorded his third career postseason triple-double - 30 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists.

Nikola Jokic is one assist shy of a triple-double having already registered 30 points and 14 rebounds. Jamal Murray has 27 as well while CJ McCollum is the only with 20+ points (23) for the Blazers.

The hosts withstood an early third-quarter 9-2 run by the Nuggets to outscore the young squad 33-29 in the period and extend their lead to 5 before the final period. 

In the quarter, Damian Lillard knocked down from long distance. He has 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting to go along with his 6 rebounds and 6 assists.


Three other Blazers have scored in double figures as well. 

For the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic is close to registering another triple-double in these playoffs with 23 points, 9 rebounds,  and 6 assists so far.

Jamal Murray catches fire in the second quarter and is only Nuggets' player in double figures - 16 points. Nikola Jokic is on an early triple-double watch with six points, seven rebounds, and five assists.


 

The visitors outscored the Blazers 30 to 25 in the second period but still trail by one heading at halftime.

For the Blazers, Lillard is the only player in double figures with 10 points. 

Both teams are struggling to shoot from the field and from beyond the arc. Nuggets are 39.6% from the field and have 5 3-pointers in 16 attempts (31.3%) while the Blazers are shooting 37.2% including a 3-of-13 (23.1%) effort from beyond the arc.

The Blazers end the first quarter on a 7-0 run to hold a 6-0 point lead at the first period. 

Damian Lillard leads the way for the hosts with 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists on 3-of-6 shooting. Nikola Jokic has been the biggest contributor for the Nuggets - 4 points and 2 assists.
