NBA Playoffs 2019: NBA releases last two minute report confirming non-call was correct on James Harden's 3-point attempt

#James Harden

The NBA today released the last two-minute report for Game 1 between the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets.

The report had plenty of findings, but all eyes were on a late potential non-call that could've changed the outcome of the first game of the series.

As time was ticking down in the game, James Harden attempted a 3-pointer that could've tied the game - while he was landing he felt he got hit on the play but Warriors' forward Draymond Green. The whistles stayed silent and the Rockets eventually lose Game 1 104-100.

After reviewing the tape, the league confirmed in the "L2M" report that Green did not foul Harden and the referees were right in letting the play continue.

"Harden draws Green into the air during his shot attempt," the L2M report states. "Green jumps in front of Harden and would have missed him if Harden hadn't extended his legs."

While the league confirmed the call in the dying seconds of the game, the L2M report does not go back and review calls prior to the final two minutes in the fourth period. The report only assesses events that occur in a game that was at or within three points during any point in the last two minutes of the fourth quarter or overtime.

Like with instant replay, there must be clear and conclusive video evidence in order to make a determination that a play was incorrectly officiated.

In this case, the league determined the evidence to be conclusive enough to say that the non-call was correct.

Both the Rockets and Warriors will hope to put Game 1 behind them as they get right back to work on Tuesday night for Game 2.
