NBA Playoffs 2020: Damian Lillard leaves Game 4 vs. Lakers with right knee injury, second MRI set for Tuesday

With 5:18 left in the third quarter of a lopsided Game 4, Damian Lillard exited the game with a knee injury and did not return.

He appeared to have suffered the injury, a couple of minutes earlier, as he completed an and-1 play over Markieff Morris.

When he left the game, the Trail Blazers were trailing 96-67 and would go on to lose by 20 points (135-115). Playing 26 minutes, he finished with 11 points and four assists in a game where Portland struggled to get going right from tip-off.

The team now trails the Conference's top seed - the Los Angeles Lakers - 3-1 in the series with Game 5 set for Thursday (6:30 a.m. IST).

Postgame, Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts had no updates on Lillard and confirmed to reporters that the All-Star has "injured his right knee and that he's getting an MRI."

Lillard, who was unanimously named the KIA NBA Player of the Seeding Games, had also left Game 2 of this series early after dislocating his left index finger.

A couple of hours after the game, the Portland Trail Blazers announced the results from Lillard's MRI.
