NBA Preseason 2019: Celtics' Carsen Edwards catches fire; Karl-Anthony Towns dominates in win; Embiid leads 76ers past Pistons

We are now counting down the final days of the 2019 NBA Preseason and are now just a week away from the tip-off of the 2019-20 regular season. 

Here's a quick glance at the three games from Wednesday: 

Boston Celtics 118, Cleveland Cavaliers 95

The Celtics had a number of probable starters that were resting this one - Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, Gordon Hayward, and Jaylen Brown - yet they cruised to a 23-point victory in Cleveland. 

Thanks largely to rookie Carsen Edwards, who exploded for 30 points in 21 minutes. The no.33 pick in the draft buried nine 3-pointers on 15 attempts, with eight of those coming in the third quarter alone. 

"I've never seen anything like that," Boston coach Brad Stevens told reporters after the game. "He was pretty special."

For the Cleveland Cavaliers, Collin Sexton was the top-scorer with 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting.

Minnesota Timberwolves 119, Indiana Pacers 111 

In their final preseason game, against the visiting Timberwolves, the Indiana Pacers suffered their first loss of this preseason.

Karl-Anthony Towns finished with a monster double-double of 33 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks in just 27 minutes to help the Timberwolves improve to 2-2 for the preseason.

Detroit Pistons 86, Philadelphia 76ers 106

Ben Simmons and Al Horford didn't take the court for this game, but Joel Embiid took certainly came to play. In just 23 minutes, he dominated the game and helped the 76ers remain unbeaten in the 2019 preseason. 

For the Pistons, with no Blake Griffin, Andre Drummond and Markieff Morris, Tony Snell finished as the top-scorer with 17 points.
