#NBATogetherLive: Pierce leads Celtics to historic comeback win over Nets in Game 3 of 2002 Conference Finals

In Game 3 of the 2002 Eastern Conference Finals, the Boston Celtics pulled off one of the most improbable fourth-quarter comebacks against the New Jersey Nets to take a 2-1 series lead.

The Celtics entered the fourth quarter trailing 74-53 and trailed by as many as 26 points in the third quarter, before Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker combined to down the stretch to lift the Celtics to a 94-90 win.

PIerce and Walker combined for 11 straight points over the first 2:44 of the fourth quarter to bring the score to 74-62, before Pierce took over.

After missing 12 of his first 14 shots, he outscored the entire Nets team 19-16 in the fourth quarter, with the Celtics piling up 41 points in the final frame.

He finished with 28 points in 45 minutes, while Walker added 23 points and 12 rebounds, and Kenny Anderson 15 points, including some clutch plays down the stretch.

Watch the game below:

"At the start of the fourth quarter we just wanted to fight and make a statement for the next game that we're going to be a team to be reckoned with. I think we did more than make a statement,'' Pierce said.

"If I was on the other end of this, I would be hurting right now. I think this is a chance for us to gain momentum and take control of the series and not look back.''

For the Nets, Kerry Kittles led the way with 19 points, while Aaron Williams added 18 points off the bench and Jason Kidd and Kenyon Martin 12 points apiece.

New Jersey shot 4-of-22 from the field in the fourth quarter, including six turnovers, while the Celtics shot 11-of-19 from the field and 18-of-21 at the free-throw line.

The Nets would go on to win the next three games to win the series 4-2, before being swept by the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals.
