#NBATogetherLive: LeBron James' historic performance in Game 6 of the 2018 Conference Finals against the Celtics

On May 23rd in 2018, LeBron James and a veteran Cleveland Cavaliers squad were preparing to avoid elimination in a Game 6 against a young Boston Celtics squad, who had jumped to a 3-2 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Despite not having their superstars Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward for the entire 2018 playoff run, the Celtics were one win away from making the 2018 NBA Finals. They had a seven-man rotation made up of a mix of veterans and young guns.

Al Horford, Marcus Morris Sr., and Aron Baynes were the vets but the major surprise package of this playoff run was the impressive young trio of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Terry Rozier. However, it wasn't going to be easy.

James, who was playing an elimination game for the second time in the 2018 Playoffs, was looking to extend his streak of NBA Finals appearances to eight.

Watch the game below:

James forced a Game 7 by single-handedly willing his team to victory. Playing 46 out of a possible 48 minutes, he finished with 46 points (a career-high in elimination games), 11 rebounds, nine assists, three steals, and a game-high +15.

In the second quarter, when the Cavaliers turned a five-point deficit at the end of the first quarter into an 11-point halftime lead, James scored or assisted on 23 of the team's 34 points. After that, the Cavs never gave up the lead and clung on to it before James sealed it with a dagger three with just under two minutes to go.

The Cavaliers had three other players finish in double figures - George Hill (20 points; 7-12 FGs), Jeff Green (14 points), and Larry Nance Jr. (10 points, 7 rebounds; 5-5 FGs).

For the Celtics, the young trio were the top contributors - Terry Rozier (28 points, 7 assists), Jaylen Brown (27 points; 11-18 FGs), and Jayson Tatum (15 points).
