Key additions and subtractions

The Knicks acquired Kemba Walker from the Oklahoma City Thunder after he received a buyout on the final two years of his deal.

In free agency, they signed Evan Fournier to a four year, $78 million deal and signed Argentine point guard Lucas Vildoza to a four-year, $13.6 million deal

The Knicks selected Quinten Grimes with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Miles McBride with the No. 36 pick, Rokas Jokubaitis with the No. 34 pick and Jericho Sims with the No. 58 pick.

Positional battles

The most intriguing battle this season is at point guard, with the Knicks adding Miles McBride in the draft, along with signing Lucas Vildoza, who will be vying for minutes with Immanuel Quickley and Derrick Rose, behind starter Kemba Walker.

Dwayne Bacon, who averaged 10.9 points in 72 games for the Orlando Magic last season is signed to a non-guaranted deal, along with Aamir Simms and M.J. Walker who will battle for a roster spot. Luca Vildoza's four-year deal is also non-guaranteed.
