On this date, in 2014, Kevin Durant, as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, dropped 51 points vs. the Toronto Raptors and drained the game-winning 3 in double-overtime for the narrow 119-118 road win.

Playing 53 of a possible 58 minutes, he also recorded 12 rebounds and 7 assists while making 7 three's on 58.3% shooting.

Durant did a lot of the heavy lifting in the second half as the Thunder had to deal with the departure of Russell Westbrook, who limped off the floor with a sprained right knee with 7:37 still to play in the third quarter.

KD scored 38 of his 51 after halftime including six in the final minute of double overtime to help the Thunder escape Toronto with the win. With 49 seconds to go in double overtime, the Raptors led 118-110 but Durant banked in a three which was followed up by a long one by Derek Fisher.

Then, on the team's final possession, Durant sank the game-winner that sealed the deal, only leaving 1.7 seconds on the game clock:

With averages of 32.0 points (led the league), 7.4 rebounds, and 5.5 assists on 50.3% shooting from the field and 39.1% from beyond the arc for the season, KD was named league MVP for the 2013-14 season.

He led the Thunder to 59 wins (2nd-best) for the 2013-14 campaign despite Russell Westbrook only featuring in 46 games. His 2014 season ended in the Western Conference Finals as the Thunder lost in six games to the eventual champions - the San Antonio Spurs.
