Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid after dominant Christmas Day display against Bucks: 'People have forgotten who I am'

The Philadelphia 76ers made a statement against the Milwaukee Bucks on Christmas Day, behind a barrage of three-pointers and a dominant performance from big man Joel Embiid.

Philly knocked down 21 triples in the win, tying their franchise record and setting a new record for three-pointers made in a Christmas Day game.

With the floor spread all night, Embiid went to work in the middle, recording 31 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and two blocks, taking the opportunity on the NBA's marquee regular season day to remind everyone just how dominant he can be.

"I just play my game," Embiid said post-game. "My goal is to get to the playoffs healthy. If my team needs me, then I'm going to show up. I feel like a lot of people have forgotten who I am. When I'm needed, I'm going to show up. God willing and hopefully I'm healthy for the playoffs, it's going to be a different story."

While he was dominant on the offensive end, Embiid was just as effective defensively, stifling Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who had a frustrating night, shooting 8-for-27 for his 18 points.

It was just the third time he's failed to score 20+ points this season, with the other two occasions coming in blowout wins over the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers.

"Joel was our bell ringer tonight," 76ers head coach Brett Brown said. "I think the job that Al Horford and Joel did on Giannis was outstanding. Joel was great tonight."

Philly will now hit the road for a four-game road trip, taking on the Orlando Magic in their next game, while the Bucks will look to bounce back when they take on the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday.
