Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul becomes sixth player in NBA history to reach 10,000 career assists

Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul added another milestone to his glittering resumé.

The 11x All-Star became just the sixth player in NBA history to reach 10,000 assists, reaching the mark in the third quarter of their game against the Los Angels Lakers, with this alley-oop dime to Deandre Ayton.

Paul finshed with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists in the 111-94 win over the Lakers, recoridng his first triple-double in a Suns uniform, becoming the oldest Suns player to record a triple-double in franchise history.

He is currently sixth all-time in assists and is on track to pass Magic Johnson for fifth later this season, needing just 137 more assists.

The 35-year-old is currently fifth in the NBA this season at 8.8 assists per game and is just 500 points away from becoming the first player ever with 20,000 points and 10,0000 assists.
