The Golden State Warriors have set many NBA records over the last several years. When Klay Thompson erupted for an NBA record 14 made 3-pointers against the Chicago Bulls, breaking the record of 13 held by teammate Stephen Curry, it brought back memories of all that Golden State has accomplished over the last few years.
In addition to Thompson's record-setting performance from beyond the arc, he and Curry also became the first pair of teammates with 50-point games within a single week.
Lost in all of that was Kevin Durant's 41-point outburst in Madison Square Garden in which he scored 25 points in the fourth quarter, the most he's ever scored in any quarter.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, this is the 50th time in NBA history that three teammates have recorded a 40-point game in the same season. Just eight games into the season, this is also the earliest it's ever happened.
Given what we've seen from the Warriors over the last week, it felt appropriate to remind everyone of just how many records they've set.
Team Records
Regular Season
- 73-9. In the 2016-16 season, the Warriors finished 73-9 in the regular season, breaking the record of 72-10 set by Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls in 1995-96.
- 54 straight home wins. Between January 31, 2015 and March 29, 2016, the Warriors won every game they played at Oracle Arena. It broke the previous record of 49 held by the San Antonio Spurs.
- 34 road wins in a single season. The Warriors went 34-7 on the road in 2015-16, the most road wins in NBA history in a single season. The 1995-96 Bulls won 33 games on the road.
- 24-0 start. In that 2015-16 season, the Warriors didn't lose until December 12 at Milwaukee on the second game of a back-to-back. The 24-0 start obliterated the previous record for best start to a season. The 1993-94 Rockets and 1948-49 Washington Capitols both started 15-0.
- 92 points in 1st half. The Warriors torched the Bulls for 92 points in the 1st half on October 29, the 2nd-most points any team has ever scored in the 1st half. Only the Phoenix Suns - who tallied 107 against the Nuggets on November 10, 1990 - have ever had a better 1st half.
- 114.8 offensive efficiency. In 2016-17, the first year with Kevin Durant on the roster, the Warriors scored 114.8 points per 100 possessions, the most efficient offence in modern NBA history.
- 56.9 effective FG percentage. The Warriors have set an NBA single season record for effective FG percentage each of the last three seasons. The mark of 56.9 set in 2017-18 is the best all-time. Effective FG percentage takes into account the added value of shooting 3-pointers.
- 265-63 over 4 seasons. From 2014-15 through 2017-18, the Warriors had a win percentage of .808, the best record over any four-year span in NBA history
Playoffs
- 16-1. The best record in postseason history, the only Warriors' only loss in the 2017 postseason coming in Game 4 of the NBA Finals to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Lakers went 15-1 in the 2001 postseason before the 1st Round was a best-of-7 series.
- 16 straight home wins. Spanning the 2017 and 2018 postseasons, the Warriors won 16 straight games at Oracle Arena before finally losing to the Houston Rockets in the Conference Finals. The previous record was 15 held by Michael Jordan's Bulls in 1990 and 1991.
- 306 made 3-pointers. Golden State drained 306 triples in the 2016 postseason, breaking its own record of 240 set the previous year.
- 94 made 3-pointers in a series. The Warriors made 94 3s against the Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA Finals, the most ever in a single playoff series. The Boston Celtics tied that record in 2017 against the Washington Wizards.
- +153 point differential. The Warriors outscored teams by a combined 153 points in the third quarter during the 2018 postseason. It's the best scoring margin that any team has ever posted in a single quarter for a single postseason.
- 11-point halftime Game 7 deficit. The Warriors trailed by 11 at halftime of Game 7 of the 2018 Conference Finals against the Rockets before coming back to win. That tied the record for largest halftime deficit overcome in a Game 7, coincidentally a record already held by the Warriors who came back from 11 down at the half in 1975 against the Bulls.
- 63-20 (.759) over four postseasons. That's the best record by any team in the playoffs over any four consecutive playoffs. The previous record was 51-17 (.750) by the Bulls from 1991-94.
Stephen Curry Records
- Most points in single OT period. In Game 4 of the 2016 Western Conference Semifinals, Curry scored 17 points in a single overtime period against the Portland Trail Blazers in what was also his first game back from an injury. It's the most in any OT period, regular season or playoffs.
- Most made 3-pointers in a single season. Curry made an incredible 402 in the 2015-16 season en route to winning his second straight MVP award. He owns the three highest and four of the top five marks for a single season.
- Most made 3-pointers in a Finals. Curry sank 32 in the 2016 Finals, breaking Danny Green's record of 27 set in 2013.
- Most made 3-pointers in single postseason. He made 98 in the 2015 postseason, breaking Reggie Miller's record of 58 from 2000. Teammate Klay Thompson has since tied Curry, making 98 in 2016.
- Most seasons leading NBA in made 3-pointers. Curry led the NBA in made 3s for five straight seasons from 2012-13 to 2016-17. Ray Allen led the NBA in made 3s in three different seasons.
- Most consecutive games with a made 3-pointer. Curry drained at least one 3-pointer in 196 straight games spanning the regular season and playoffs, a streak that ran from November 13, 2014 to November 3, 2016. The streak came to an end in a game against the Lakers in which he went 0-10 from beyond the arc.
- Unanimous MVP. Curry received every first place vote for MVP in 2015-16, his second straight MVP award. He became the first and only unanimous MVP in league history. Both Shaquille O'Neal (2000) and LeBron James (2013) came one vote shy of pulling it off.
- Consecutive games with 5+ 3-pointers to begin season. Curry did it in seven straight games to begin the 2018-19 season, setting an NBA record.
- Games with at least 10 made 3-pointers. Curry has done it 10 times, more than twice as many as any other player. The only other players to do it more than once are Klay Thompson (4) and J.R. Smith (3).

Klay Thompson Records
- Most made 3-pointers in a regular season game. Thompson made 14 of them against the Chicago Bulls, surpassing Curry's previous record of 13 set back in November 2016 against the Pelicans.
- Most made 3-pointers in a playoff game. With the Warriors trailing 3-2 and on the road in Oklahoma City in the 2016 Conference Finals, Thompson exploded for 11 3s to stave off elimination. He became the first player in NBA history to sink at least 10 3s in a playoff game. The previous record was 9 shared by Ray Allen, Vince Carter, Rex Chapman and Jason Terry.
- Most points in a single quarter. Thompson scored 37 points in the third quarter on January 23, 2015 against the Kings. The previous record was 33 shared by George Gervin and Carmelo Anthony (Kevin Love has since scored 34 and now has the 2nd-most in a quarter).
- Most made 3-pointers in a postseason. He made 98 in 2016, tying Stephen Curry's record set in 2015.

Kevin Durant Records
- Most consecutive seasons leading NBA in made FT. Durant led the NBA in made free throws four straight seasons from 2009-10 to 2013-14, tying the NBA record held by Karl Malone. James Harden can tie the record in 2018-19.
- 30 points in every game of NBA Finals. Durant scored at least 30 points in all five games of the 2017 NBA Finals. He became the sixth player to score at least 30 in every game of a single Finals, joining Michael Jordan, Elgin Baylor, Rick Barry, Shaquille O'Neal and Hakeem Olajuwon.
Draymond Green Records
- Best plus-minus in single season. In the 2015-16 season, the Warriors outscored opponents by 1,072 points with Green on the floor. That's the best plus-minus of any player over the last 25 years. Curry is the only other player over that span to top +1,000 in a season.
