Report: Anthony Davis exits game vs. Nuggets after straining his right Achilles

Anthony Davis exited the Lakers game vs. the Nuggets on Sunday night (ET) with an apparent leg injury in the second quarter. He was replaced by Kyle Kuzma to open the third quarter.

The Lakers announced early in the fourth quarter that Davis had suffered an Achilles strain and would be undergoing an MRI on Monday.

With just under three minutes remaining in the half, Davis attempted to drive left on Nikola Jokic, appearing to knock knees as he blew by along the left block.

Davis came up hopping and reached down toward his right heel area, wincing and then subbing out shortly after hitting his free throws. He walked stiffly off the floor and did not return.

Nuggets would go on to win the game 122-105, led by Nikola Jokic's triple-double of 23 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists. Thus, snapping the Lakers' seven-game win streak.

"It's a part of the game, it's more so frustrating that I'm not able to go out there and play," Davis said postgame. "... I don't want to mess around with this type of injury."

When he left the game, he had recorded 15 points, four rebounds, and one assist in 14 minutes of play. Entering this game, he was averaging 22.9 points, 8.9 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.9 blocks in 33.7 minutes through 22 games.
