Vince Carter will return to the Atlanta Hawks for what is expected to be his final season, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

The terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed.

At 42-years old, this will be Carter's 22nd season in the league - an NBA record. He is currently tied with Robert Parrish, Kevin Willis, Kevin Garnett and Dirk Nowitzki with 21 seasons played in the league.

In fact, if he plays in one game in 2020 he'll also become the first player to ever play in four different decades, according to ESPN Stats and Info.

Carter still found a way to provide quality mintues over 76 regular season games with the Hawks last season. The veteran forward averaged 7.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game while shooting 38.9% from beyond the arc. The future Hall of Famer also became the 22nd player in NBA history to eclipse 25,000 points.

Carter will have the opportunity to again act as the leader in the locker room for a young team on the rise this upcoming season. With this record-setting 22nd season anticipated to be Carter's final season, expect a similar farewell tour to that of what NBA legend Dwyane Wade received in his final season this past year.
