Report: Grizzlies trade injury-riddled Chandler Parsons to the Atlanta Hawks

#Parsons

The Chandler Parson era in Memphis has finally come to an end.

Parson is reportedly being shipped to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Solomon Hill and Miles Plumlee according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Parson came to Memphis in the summer of 2016 after solid showings in Houston and Dallas. He signed a four-year $94 million dollar deal to be the wing player they needed amongst Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph and Mike Conley. Injuries limited the 30-year-old Parson to just 95 games in three seasons with the Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies and Parsons weren't able to agree on a buyout number for the final year of his four-year deal so they made the trade with Atlanta. The move helped the Hawks free up a roster spot.

In return, Memphis gets two bigs in Hill and Plumlee both of whom are in the final year of their contracts. With Hill making $12.8 million and Plumlee set to make $12.5 million they may become valuable trade chips down the line should the Grizzlies chose to go that route.

Hill played in 44 games last season with the New Orleans Pelicans averaging 4.3 points, 3.0 rebounds in 20.0 minutes per game. He was traded to the Hawks on the night of the draft.

Plumlee averaged 4.4 points, 2.2 rebounds in just 18 appearances for Atlanta in 2018-19.
