Los Angeles Lakers centre DeMarcus Cousins has suffered a torn ACL in his knee, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Charania added that Cousins will undergo "final tests" that are expected to confirm the injury.

Cousins isn't far removed from suffering two serious lower body injuries. His 2017-18 season was cut short due to a torn left Achilles and he was sidelined for most of Golden State's playoff run last season with a torn left quadriceps muscle.

Cousins returned to the Warriors for the Finals, where he averaged 8.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 18.0 minutes per game.

An unrestricted free agent, Cousins signed a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Lakers this offseason. He was expected to compete with JaVale McGee for a starting position next season.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report that Cousins had suffered a "possible knee injury" in a workout in Las Vegas earlier this week.
