Report: NBA planning players-only 2K tournament to air on ESPN

The NBA is getting creative with the season being suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the NBA is planning a 16-player NBA 2K tournament that is made up of only NBA players. The details are still being finalized, but the plan is for the tournament to be broadcasted on ESPN and last 10 days, starting on Saturday, April 4.

Some of the notable players in the tournament are Kevin Durant, Trae Young, Donovan Mitchell, Devin Booker and DeMarcus Cousins, per The Boardroom.

Each player participating in the tournament will do so from their own homes.

The NBA announced that the 2019-20 season has been suspended in response to the coronavirus pandemic on Wednesday, March 11 U.S time.
