The Minnesota Timberwolves announced that they have parted ways with president of basketball operations Gersson Rosas.
The franchise stated, "As an organization, we remain committed to building a winning team that our fans and city can be proud of."

After spending 18 years in the Houston Rockets organization, the Timberwolves hired Rosas as team president in May of 2019. They missed the postseason in each of his two seasons in control, going 19-45 in 2019-20 (14th in the Western Conference) and 23-49 last season (13th in the Western Conference).
Minnesota has missed the playoffs in 16 of the last 17 years, a trend it will look to change with young talented players like Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards on the roster.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Timberwolves have promoted vice president Sachin Gupta to lead that charge.
This reported promotion is historic, making Gupta the first person of Indian origin to run an NBA basketball organization.
Gupta began his career as a special advisor to general manager Daryl Morey with the Rockets from 2006 to 2013. In 2013, he took the role of vice president of basketball operations with the Philadelphia 76ers under Sam Hinkie. Five years later, in 2018-19, he joined the Detroit Pistons as an assistant general manager, before joining the Timberwolves for the 2019-20 season.
As Wojnarowski reported, Gupta will operate under an interim tag as Minnesota conducts a "broader search" for Rosas' replacement.
